Frolov?

I know you guys don't usually discuss rumours that just float about (as is this one on many twitter accounts today) but there seems to be a real possibility of Frolov becoming a Hab before the Olympic break. (Names I've read going the other way are D'agostini and Webber)
Any of you actually watch Frolov play often? I know he's supposed to have all the tools but doesn't bring them to the game every night.
** If moderators consider this too rumor-orientated I would understand.
As Stubbs just said on habsinsideout: If a rumour's true, it's a fact.
This one is not a fact.

I read that a deal was in place but it is contingent on LA acquiring Whitney. I don't remember where I read it so no link, but just a rumor. I guess if i was energetic I could look again, but I am not.

Most of the trades forum is about rumours and possibilities Loupdogg. No problem.
Who would you give up for Frolov and what is his CAP hit?

I've been reading this all day, I'd take Frolov any day for those players.

LA needs experience for the playoff drive, not two unproven youngsters. I doubt very much it's Dagostini and Webber.

Frolov is 27, a UFA at the end of the year & has a cap hit of 2.9 million acording to www.nhlnumbers.com although his salary this year id 4 million.

I'm not a fan of either D'Ags or Weber so if those are all that it takes to get Frolov then hell yeah.

Frolov has already garnered a rep as taking many nights off I'd call him Kovalev-light. For not much more than he's making now I'd look into but at 4 million unless a ton of salary is moved out the Habs couldn't keep him. This could however just be a rental situation but if you don't make the playoffs your depth takes another serious hit.

Not all of them? That's ridiculous, how can he be worth 4 guys? Or is that simply a selection of the guys who might be going?

Far, far too much for a UFA of Frolov's second tier ability. IMO, two of those pieces is plenty.

Just flipped on the Oilers-Kings game as it just started about 5 minutes ago.
#24 Frolov is playing, so he is not a healthy scratch tonight.

Far, far too much for a UFA of Frolov's second tier ability. IMO, two of those pieces is plenty. The Habs just gave away a second round pick for two months worth of marginal UFA to be. Overpayment for someone like Frolov who would actually make the team better is not impossible.

It's from the Russian media so trustworthiness could be questioned (i've learned from our Emelin situation), but is still interesting as the article says that Frolov is willing to leave Rangers for the KHL due to little play time. www.lifesports.ru/news/46571

Don't let the door hit yah ...
Transfer agreement or not, I'd be suing. Any player who leaves is in breach of contract.

Eklund has the Habs heating up talks with the Rangers possibly for Frolov? Apparently Cammy likes the guy but my question is it'd probably cost you AK and isn't Frolov the same player? Seems like a deal having you spin your wheels. If a deal existed and it didn't involve Ak can you imagine both of these indifferent cats on the Habs???IMO guys like this you can't win with unless you have a genie and a magic lamp. The Habs need an RJ Umberher type player I think anyways. HFTO

Thank god not sure if available but give me an RJ Umbergher type player for the first line to mirror Patches on the second. We have enough water bugs that with room could shine, time to balance this lineup.

He'd certainly fit in nicely, and it would be nice to have him here instead of killing us. He's got another year left on his deal after this, with a cap hit of $3.75 million. Seems a bit high, but doable. bluejackets.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8469469
