Great work Dan.
It looks like Savard's staff has really been doing their homework with late picks like Korneev and Halak. Dealing for mid round picks doesn't seem like such a bad idea when you have a GM that makes each pick count.
I'm also intrigued by O'byrne. A bit of a project, but must have potential given his early selection. It sounds like he could really benefit from 2+ years at Cornell. Gotta like that 6'5 frame.

I have seen a couple of Cornell games on the NHL Network and all I have to say is that O'Byrne is RAW. He is going to need more than 30 games a year at the College level to develop properly.
I would like to see him being signed sooner rather than later in order to get him th proper development.

I have been impressed with O'Byrne's physical play, size and skating. I think he could stay at CU for all 4 years, as they are very well coached, and are one of the top programs in the ECAC. He is getting a good bit of ice time, even though he rarely plays the PP, he does get a regular shift on the PK. So far so good, we'll have to see how he progresses over the next few years.

Excellent stuff, Dan. Thanks a lot for a very good read.
BTW-> My favourite longshot (since he was drafted, actually) is Korneev.

Nice job as always Dan. Especially heartening to see how our goalie selections are performing. Good to see Higgins *does* pass the puck.
