because of the 2010. WC, Wimbledon doesn't get as much of an attention as it should and normally does. well, at least here it doesn't. so I was surprised when I read this piece of news this morning because I haven't heard anything about it on the TV. yesterday, two players, John Isner and Nicolas Mahut broke the record for the longest tennis match ever. the record now stands at 9 hours 58 minutes, but the match is not finished yet. it has been stopped for the 2nd time because of the dark and will continue today. if any of you remember the sight of Pete Sampras puking because of exhaustion (sp?) in a match against Corretja some 15 years ago, that lasted only 4 or 5 hours, you should appreciate what these 2 guys accomplished/are accomplishing. often on this board people talk about no-quit attitude. well folks, this is as good as it gets, IMHO. if the match is broadcasted on any of the channels I receive, I'll make sure to watch this epic battle continue. r. EDIT: the score is currently tied in the 5th set at 59

The match will resume today at 3:30 England time, 10:30 EST (noon Newfoundland time). The officials felt it was in the best interest of the gmae/players to allow them a rest period. From the highlights last night, Isner seemed upset that Mahut lobbied the umpire to call the match due to darkness.....
Score now stands at 6-4 , 3-6, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-3), 59-59 .... suffice it to say, we will NEVER see many of the records of tennis that this match has set ever broken.
If I wasn't at work, I would watch the conclusion of this match. Hopefully, the match doesn't end at 61-59, or have a Kane-like ending, cause that would be awfully anti-climatic at this stage ...

All tennis matches seem too long.
