Now the Leafs will boast all year about having 2 Cup winners in their lineup. And again, Burke gives up parts of the farm. Desperate to make the playoffs after not being in them since Roenick scored for Philly in 2004. Many Leafs fans very upset with losing DiDomenico. Most fans are split from what I've read. =================== Versteeg will no doubt be forced into a Top 6 (maybe Top 3) role on the Leafs. Stalberg didn't put up impressive numbers...but from the games I saw, he is a big, very nifty player with a nose for the net. I have a feeling he'll do better surrounded by the talent in Chicago than Versteeg will do without it.

Stalberg and DiDomenico, eh?
The trend of giving up the future for the present continues. DiDo is a very solid prospect.
Burkie, do you really have a plan? Does Vesteeg get them in the playoffs and get Boston a late pick? Alas, I think not. Our Beantown rivals keep getting better.

I guess this is as good of place as any to put this...
Chicago's bonuses last year (Toews winning the Conn Smythe included), put them $4.19 million over the cap according to James Mirtle. Bob McKenzie says they have a cap of $55.2 million next year. So right now they have $4.1m in room.

Yep....and that was on the Leafs. I think he'll do better in Chicago. And Versteeg will find it just the opposite. Hopefully. Lots of Leafs' fans applauding Burke for getting Sweatt in the deal. He's the real gem, some are saying.

Bill Sweatt is a pretty fine player.

Sweatt is amazingly fast, but he wasn't drafted as high as I thought he might be. He's not a natural scorer, so probably more suited to 3rd or 4th line duty and the PK. Thirty three points in 39 games in his 4th year with Colorado College. To compare, Danny Kristo had 36 points in 41 games with North Dakota, same league. Kristo is 2 years younger.
