Yawn...just another good prospect starts to light it up for the Habs. This is almost getting redundant. You gotta love this problem!! Milroy has his first ever 3 point AHL and pro game. He scores the winner with less than 2 minutes to go. He scores the winner just 17 seconds after the Baby Leafs tie it up late in the third. Milroy also gets two assists on the night. Here's a guy who had an early season injury and had to work his way into the lineup. He is now picking it up since all the callups. This is such a nice problem to have, Hab fans!!

At the risk of sounding like an echo, I was really ticked off at Marc Habscheid for not including Milroy on the 2003 (year before this) WJC team. Whatever reasons you could find for not liking Milroy, they were probably overblown and the one thing this guy can do is score key goals when you need one. He keeps proving it over and over and over again. That team's problem was scoring goals at key times. Duh. Really nice to see Duncan have a game like this.

Yes, between he and Ryder I dare say we have our own (better) versions of Eric Cole. I've been drooling over the potential of Duncan for some time. He's got enough size to be a real force (6' 195-200lbs) the way he plays. If he develops like Ryder has, and Ryder is capable of left side duty (of which I have little doubt due to the PP), we could have a formidable duo in those two. ;D

The Duncan Milroy train took off with me on it 2 years ago when he won playoff MVP honours in the WHL. So the guy got off to a slow start as a pro, big deal. Writing him off this early is the equivalent to writing off guys like Ryder, Ward, and Balej less than 12 months ago.

Before this year, that was always considered to be an insult, though I never intended it to be. They both play the same style of game, they are about the same size, and they both have the same skating deficiencies, that make people question them. But they also both have this tendancy to step it up in big games, or come playoff time. Can never have too many good assets...

The team is now 2nd in the AHL in points (only 1 behind Grand Rapids, 4th in winning percentage, and 1st overall in goals scored). Not bad for a bunch of young guns.
When you consider that a lot of the most recent production is coming from a trio of 20 year old rookies (Higgins, Perezhogin, Milroy), good goaltending from young Michaud, solid D by Hainsey, and old man Pleks (at 22) providing his "boring" one point a game (or better), they are doing just great.
Jarvis has them clicking!!
