Locke was excellent last year, and after a slow start has picked up again this year. Coach of the 67s might offer him an opportunity to play this his last season on a Memorial Cup contender but would rather not, as Locke is one of hte keys to the 67s season. without him htey go nowhere; with him they might do something.
Locke has a good attitude, and I was glad to see him picked up by the Habs. Here's hoping for great things from him.

I was able to catch the Ottawa-Owen Sound game tonight. Ottawa is really a one trick pony, and they ride Corey a lot. He gets double shifted on the PP and plays the PK, so loads of ice time. His linemates aren't bad, but they aren't Matt Foy either, they are pretty raw. He still needs to add more weight and get some more jump in those skates, but he is skilled, has great hockey sense and has good vision out there...some really nice setups to his team-mates.
This was a Hab Prospect game I liken to David and Goliath. Little Locke up against big Deveaux, probably the biggest and smallest Hab prospects around. Deveaux gets lots of ice time as well, including PP and PK time. He does play a more physical game, but he does has some decent hands for a big guy and has a nose for the net. He is also a big RH centre, so the Habs may be looking to sign him for depth and see how he fares in Hamilton next season. We all know that the new Hab approach is waiting to see the late bloomers arrive, so who knows what Deveaux top end is right now.
Pretty entertaining game overall, despite Owen Sound outshooting the 67's 47-22, and they even laid back and didn't get a shot in the last 8:50 of the third. Nice to catch a few of our unsigned prospects live.

I thought Locke was signed!
The 67s may be a one trick pony, but Kilrea always seems to get those around the pony going, and seems to find a way to get them to win. But their GTending also keeps them in games. They are doing much better than anyone expected, but htey aren't going anywhere near the MemCup this year.
It is nice to be able to watch Locke on the ice . . . and he seems to be a decent sort of guy too.

I think he should be signed, but will need a few years in the AHL to find some consistency. He's usually strong on faceoffs, as he will take a lot of the key draws, but he seems to take a few shifts off from time to time.

He is a big lanky guy who gets in the middle of the action, which is quite a contrast from Locke, who really plays well off the puck and finds good openings. He also plays with a bit of an edge, so I too would like to see him signed and see what he can do.
