Lars Eller, for example, is a much, much better prospect IMO because of his skating and strength. He doesn't have LL's vision, but I think he'll be a much more productive NHL'er. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I'll take that bet. Every time Louis dons a jersey that means something to him he thrives .... Harvard (it was always his dream to go to Harvard) and Team Canada (every guys dream). While the Rocket are close to home, I dont think Louis ever saw himself playing for them ... he made the switch to major junior from the NCAA, possibly with the insistence of the Habs, and probably trying to play a style and number of games more close to the AHL/NHL. You think Louis has never dreamt of putting that CH on? .... He will play with more desire for that jersey that Eller, IMO.

... but he won't be playing for the Bulldogs. At least not this year.
Apparently he has a shoulder injury that may or may not require surgery. Seems he has had it for five months now. On the one hand, that could be a valid excuse... but on the other hand if he has had it for five months now why can't he continue playing in the AHL with it? Did he aggravate it? Will it take several months to fully heal and they don't want to jeopardize his start to next year? Or are they afraid he isn't quite ready for the intensity of an AHL playoff series?
Where is Dr. Recchi when you really need him?

Signing these college players to play in the ECHL is fine and good, how about making a concerted effort at the draft to go after an elite prospect? Why does Philly, for example, manage to do this but we can't? When we do get one (McDonagh) we trade him away for junk. There are no elite prospects in the system and there hasn't been one in a very long time with the exception of Subban. That's what we need, not an another Michael Ryder who may or may not turn out. Like you I would love some elite players on this team. But we've done well over the last few years. Price has become one the the better goalies in the league. I think Plekanec is considered one of the better two-way centerman in the league. Max Pac started to look like an impact player in the short time we had him. Halak has looked great and netted us a decent prospect. Desharnais has a looked good with average linemates and very little ice time. I can't say whether anyone will be that impact player your looking for but we had a deep talent pool over the last couple of years with the blue chippers being Subban, Plekanec and Price.

You wanna rethink that after finding out Eller played after dislocating his shoulder in Game 6? If they both play with passion, that's fine with me. BC's post that indicates LL was playing injured may explain the points shortage, compared to my expectations. I'm actually glad to hear that and I hope he heals fully. BC, I might not play him in Hamilton with that injury give the bigger size and speed of the AHL compared to juniour. More risk of him compounding the injury.

I dunno for you guys, but for me Louis Leblanc is a future 3rd line center at best, but a good one, à la Guy Carbonneau.

I can see Leblanc playing in the AHL more so than Kristo, who lost a lot of games due to his injury. I can see him playing another year at North Dakota, but it will be interesting to see what happens. Leblanc and Kristo are probably our best forward prospects right now.

Bournival and Gallagher invited to Team Canada's summer development camp for the WJC team. This is not surprising considering they were both invited to last year's final selection camp. In fact, Bobby Mac indicated that Bournival was the last player cut. Good luck to them both, but obviously final decisions are a long way off. Having a good summer camp never hurts one's chances. www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/feature/?id=45328As I mentioned in another thread, Tinordi is off to the US's summer camp as well.
