He played AAA for the Royals so he had a Montreal connection. One of the best managers in baseball and a colourful character. He was nicknamed "Sparky" because of constant run-ins with umpires as a minor league player. Watching the Expos as a kid, I remember the Big Red Machine as an awesome team and his inimitable style when dealing with umpires or his players.
