The International Scouting Service (IIS) has released their 2003 Draft Guide (you have to pay to get it before the draft). I thought it would be interesting to see how they ranked and saw some of the guys we picked. Here is the Guide in its entirety:

And here is what they said about some of our picks (they thought we would take Getzlaf):
ANDREI KASTSITSYN

Skill: This is a player to watch Excellent skater Natural goal scorer Creates scoring opportunities for his teammates Protects the puck well Smart player.
Overall Game: A very talented player. Andrei is an energetic, no-nonsense player with excellent skating and playmaking abilities. Flashy skater, very shifty and makes all moves at top speed. Has played well Internationally, dominating at the recent 2003 IIHF World U-18 Championships in Russia, finishing with 15 points in 6 games. Has a great release and always wants the puck on his stick. He finished this season playing for Red Army.
Weakness: Gets pushed off the puck too easily. Needs to work on his strength.
ISS Forecaster: Whichever team drafts him, they will have to be patient. If not drafted early look for Dallas, late in the first round.
CORY URQUHART
Position: C
Born: 10.01.84
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 195
I.S.S Ranking #49

Poise B-
Defense C+
Skill: Good skater with mobility Good stride Sees the ice well Creates scoring opportunities Good puck control Creative with the puck Has a good scoring touch.
Overall Game: Cory is a big skilled center with a great stride and excellent agility. He’s a very good stickhandler and has a variety of shots. Under former Montreal Canadiens bench boss Alain Vigneault, Urquhart has finally begun to use his size. He was very impressive in the playoffs, 15 points (9+6) in just 7 games. Has a number of good offensive skills, but could learn to use his teammates more effectively.
Weakness: Improve his physical game; needs to use his size to his advantage.
ISS Forecaster: Corey is a wild card, a real make it or break it kind of player. Too much offensive potential to last past the 2nd round.
MAXIM LAPIERRE[/b]

Born: 03.29.85
Height: 6’1.5”
Weight: 185
I.S.S Ranking #55

Skill: Good skater with mobility. Strong on his skates A good checking forward Gives and receives passes well Competes hard for the puck Plays well away from the puck.
Overall Game: He is a very well rounded player who comes to play every night. He is a very strong skater and he possesses a powerful stride combined with excellent balance. Is committed to a two-way game, plays responsibly at both ends, and is a very disciplined player. Maxim is not afraid of contact, and finishes his checks. Ranked a 2nd rounder ISS
staff members wouldn’t be shocked to see him fall later.
Weakness: Lacks offensive abilities: shot, puck handling and vision.
ISS Forecaster: Maxim is a skilled defensive forward, needs to develop his offensive game, and could be a good two-way forward.
COREY LOCKE[/size]
Position: C

Height: 5’8.5”
Weight: 175
I.S.S. Ranking # 90
Scouting Report
An average skater, good mobility, has the ability to make opposing players miss him when carrying the puck. Locke is excellent at distributing the puck and is able to find open teammates in pressure situations. Seems to consistently find a way to get in the open, deep in the offensive zone. Locke led the entire CHL in scoring and proved he is a force and threat every time he's on the ice.
Others:
Ryan O’Byrne, drafted 79th overall, not ranked by IIS
Dany Steward, drafted 123rd overall, ranked 127th by IIS
Christopher Heino-Lind, drafted 177th overall, not ranked by IIS
Mark Flood, drafted 188th overall, ranked 144th by IIS
Oskari Korpikari, drafted 217th overall, not ranked by IIS
Jimmy Bonneau, drafted 241st overall, not ranked by IIS
Jaroslav Halak, drafted 271st overall, ranked 167 overall by IIS.
