Replacement for Balej...? The only thing that Vydareny and Balej have in common is you can buy a vowel, rearrange the letters of their names and still not be able to pronounce them properly. The Hab's will miss Balej. I'm sure that Gainey already knew that and felt the deal was worth doing, but it isn't a steal.

Vydareny is one year younger than Matt Shasby and Ryan Glenn and already has some AHL experience. If nothing else, he adds some depth for Hamilton next year.
It's probably better than getting a late round choice for Blouin because most of those late picks never even make it to the AHL, never mind the NHL.
