This is a very MATURE board. You'd be surprised, but this very trait is indicative of our entire community, HH. I personally know of several bloggers who are either intimidated and/or envious of the level of discussion we have on our boards. So much so, that I've had to actually defend our reputation at times. I've fielded stuff like: "... what an arrogant board HabsRus is ..." or sarcasm such as, "... excuse me, but HabsRus must be for the most astute of Habs fans ..."But, it's that maturity that keeps resurfacing just about every day here at HabsRus and it's paid off HUGE! Cheers.

I'm 31.
Proud to say the Leafs, Bruins and Flyers have never won a cup in my lifetime and I intend to keep it that way.

68. I only started following the team seriously in 1961, although I do have vague memories of Maurice Richard in games on the 13-inch TV just before he retired. I'm halfway to being old.

However, I remember both Bruin Cups and the Flyers' heyday. Both very strong teams both physically and talent-wise. Cheers.

Still in the 20's, hitting the big 30 in April. Most of the time I feel so old!

The big 31 here.
I think this answers the age old question of why HabsRus doesn't seem to degenerate into the flame war bullsh*t that other boards do. We have a core group of people here old enough to know what real respect sounds like, the kind of respect people learned before the internet was part of growing up.

I'm 17 of course. Chronologically, 56. Emotionally, closer to 17. I'm younger than HA, and always will be, unless of course, his wife reads this thread and kills him.

Jean Beliveau scored his last hat trick, and his 500th goal, on my first birthday. I'm a very young 41, still skating rings around the 30 year olds on the rink.
It's funny, I'm a spring chicken here and an old man on the Calgary board I frequent.

I went through the old introduction thread. Turns out that I posted I was 21 9 years ago, so I must be getting close to 30.

Cheers. Arrogant? Just because we have caviar and courtesans? The thing is, if you knew which boards they were blogging on you'd probably understand where they were coming from. The predominating adjectives that surface on our boards: * objectivity, * learned, * courtesy, and * maturity. ... to which others outside the community view as: * pompousness, * arrogance, * borish, and * shortsightedness. Then I look at the blogs they come from and see why they think this way. Adjectives on these boards: * sensationalism, * oneupmanship, (leading to) * repitition, and * immaturity. Now, Matt, this doesn't necessarily pertain to any and all who don't visit our boards. Far from it. There's a few lurkers out there who simply choose to check in and read the material and that's cool. However, there are others who lurk and refuse to post because of the perceptions they have of our community. Everyone is welcome here, but unlike a lot of boards out there, we have some rules and that is a deterent as well sometimes. However, that's not a problem for a lot of good people. Like the people we have in our community anyway. Cheers.

Well said Dis.
I lurk on other boards but do not post because of some of the comments that are made. Some threads go on and on with posters taking shots at each other. That's not for me.

Believe it or not I'm jealous of the older guys here. You guys got to see some great Montreal hockey teams which unfortunatley I never got to see. You guys are very lucky!!!!
