It's kind of an interesting article to me for another reason.
I created what I thought was a detail Excel sheet to capture my costs. At first, it didn't capture the costs very accurately because I over estimated the "hours" worked. We had production standards on everything and yet, the numbers didn't work. Once I knocked off 1 hour from an 8 hour shift, everything fell into place. I could predict costs to within 2 percent after that.
