This thread belongs I-know-where, and will end up there, but I thought some good news would be welcome. Hamilton won the Sam Pollock Trophy as champions of the North Division when Syracuse dropped a 4-1 decision to Rochester... - www.canoe.ca/AHL/04CalderCup/2004/04/09/415320.htmlA first round bye for the 'Dogs. Kudos to GM André Savard, Coach Doug Jarvis and the cast of talented youngsters on a very solid season. Good luck in the playoffs.

Perezhogin, Plekanec, and Higgins finished with a bang. Even Hossa and Hainsey started to pile up points and +/-, and they did it without Balej at the end. Jolly good, as the Brits say.

With one game left to go, Perezhogin is now 4th in rookie scoring, and is only 2 points back of the leader. Higgins is tied for 5th and is only 4 points back. Both youngsters have had a great rookie debut on a very successful season to date for Hamilton.
Congrats on the division title and here's hoping they have a great Calder Cup run

Hamilton was clobbered 6-3 by Manitoba in the last game of the season, with Damphouse and Michaud in goal. Yann Danis must play in the playoffs. Plekanec had 2 goals, 1 of them shorthanded. Is he ready or is he ready? Next season for sure.

Damphousse only played the first period and only let one goal in. Michaud played the last two and gave up a bucket full of goals. I'm guessing that pretty well locks up Damphousse and Danis as Jarvis' go-to guys for the playoffs.
Dogs first game in post-season is at home on Tues April 20th.

In the last game, Plekanec had 8 shots (the 2 goals were not accidental), Hossa had 4 shots, +2, Perezhogin had 4 shots, even - in a 6-3 loss.
I'm feeling very optimistic about Plekanec and Perezhogin, and I think there just might be some hope for Hossa.
