loved the book, enjoyed the movie [first chance I've had to watch].

not big on Canadian authors [not like HA who loves anything Margaret Atwood has to say ] but enjoy Mordecai Richler

doesn't hurt that the movie includes a mention and a brief clip the Canadiens over the Bruins in the 77 Cup finals. doesn't erase this year's loss but any time a movie thrust the Habs into the spotlight it's a good movie!

I share your opinion with on the book and the movie. I consider myself an avid reader ( mostly non fiction) & this was my first Richler book.
