Well, the draft is 6 weeks away and the list is out. No surprises really, but that's not why I started the thread. I wanna know who you think BG will get. Will he trade up? Will he dump the pick for someone else? Picking somewhere in the area of 13th this year isn't overly exciting. This Sportsnet article lists some of the top names, and Al Montoya interests me greatly. He's the goalie for Michigan. Might it be a good year to go goalie shopping? Landing Montoya would certainly ease a trade of Garon.

sure, if he's the best player available when our turn comes. but with the signing of Danis, I don't see the need to go after a goalie. whatever happens, BPA is always a way to go but let's say that I would prefer to have a dman as the BPA when we pick or a player like Kastsitsyn.

I agree that the need is less with Danis signed, but I'm thinking a few years down the road. A road that may see us without both Garon and Theo. It sure would be nice to have another option. At this point, I'm not sure Michaud has what it takes to play any role at the NHL level.
Also with such a thin draft, are there any dmen, or Kats types, that will be floating around when our number is called. I'm not so sure. I'm not all there sure there are any period (after Ovechkin and Malkin). That lack of depth may make it hard to move up, as many teams may try to do so. On the flipside, a team willing to move down a few picks for the right deal might get a great offer this year.
