One of the hardest left hooks in the sport and by all accounts a classy, humble guy. Wound up on the American Olympic team by accident (he was cut, but was later added after one of the other heavyweights broke his hand) and went on to take the gold medal. The story goes that the Olympians were given soap to wash their laundry with during that games and Frasier asked those with left overs if he could have them. Wanted to send it home to his family, who didn't have the money to buy it themselves.
CH, IIRC he did have financial problems in later life - to the point that he was even estranged from one of his daughters due to a lawsuit over money. Very classy for Mayweather to pick up the expenses for the funeral.

Thanks, TNG.
From Wikipedia:
Financial issues and legal battles
According to an article from New York Times, "over the years, Frazier has lost a fortune through a combination of his own generosity and naïveté, his carousing, failed business opportunities and a deep hatred for his former chief boxing rival, Muhammad Ali. The other headliners from his fighting days — Ali, George Foreman and Larry Holmes — are millionaires." Asked about his situation, Frazier became playfully defensive, but would not reveal his financial status. "Are you asking me how much money I have?" he said. "I got plenty of money. I got a stack of $100 bills rolled up over there in the back of the room." Frazier blamed himself, partly, for not effectively promoting his own image. Frazier-Lyde is a lawyer and has worked on her father’s behalf in pursuit of money they claim he was owed in a Pennsylvania land deal. In 1973, Frazier purchased 140 acres in Bucks County, Pennsylvania for $843,000. Five years later, a developer agreed to buy the farmland for $1.8 million. Frazier received annual payments from a trust that bought the land with money he had earned in the ring. When the trust went bankrupt, the payments ceased. Frazier sued his business partners, claiming that his signature was forged on documents and that he had no knowledge of the sale. In the ensuing years, the land was subdivided and turned into a residential community. The property is now worth an estimated $100 million.[16]

Also....both the slaughterhouse and running up the steps scenes in Rocky were inspired by Frazier, who did both as part of his early training regimens.
Don't know if Stallone gave him credit for it or not. One site said he didn't. It's been reported for quite a while, so I guess he's had unofficial credit for some time. I certainly didn't know about it until today. Perhaps it's common knowledge for boxing/movie buffs.
