Yay! More small players!
They have a ton of money invested in middle of the road players. People think we're sunk with expensive contracts for average players? Take a look at the Sabres roster.

I know it's Eklund but... yuk! This sounds like same rumour from another forum. It was Patrick Roy not Derek Roy Habs were rumored to be after. The opening poster just said Roy eveybody assumed it was Derek |

The opening poster just said Roy eveybody assumed it was Derek Dreger is running with the story. He was on Buffalo radio this morning talking about it. Definitely a rumour out there about DEREK Roy. |

I can't remember the last time Eklund was right about something. Really why do people still read this. I go to hockeybuzz to read Engel's Habs column.

Don't we already have a Derek Roy on the team? Goes by the name of Tomas Plekanec? Mmmmmmm... nah... Roy, aside from being a year younger than Pleks, costing 1MM less and having a shorter term contract. Carreer PPG: Roy 0.79, Pleks 0.66 Points: Roy: 408 in 514 games, Pleks 342 in 516 games Goals: Roy: 153 in 514 games, Pleks 134 in 516 games Carreer +/- : Roy +36, Pleks +22 Plus Roy is a better faceoff men, and while he gives 2 inches to Pleks he is a way more gritty player. In the longer run I think DD will be a better comparison to Roy. ...so yeah we do have a player like Roy, you just didn't name the right one |

Derek Roy when he's playing well can be a hell of a player...BUT ...if this was a real possibility why would a team that last week said it needs to get BIGGER trade for another small player?  Honestly the way this team operates it's probably true. HFTO |

If true? Smells of a panic move for Gauthier trying to save his job. Hope he doesn't trade that pick. Why else would he want Roy? He is a head case, small with a big contract? If he wanted that why not hold onto Cammalleri? Gauthier be going from the firepot into the fire on this one. |
