I really feel for this kid, and wanted to shoot him an email of support. I still think that the other jerk should have gotten a large suspension also. The ahl/nhl are trying to stop stuff like this, because the american media only picks up on nhl stories like these ones. I'm not sure how one guy swings his stick at his head first gets 1/100th of the suspension of the guy who fights back. its too bad that he connected, if he'd have swung it three inches to the left and glanced off his helmet he'd only have 6 games.

A stick to the head gets his attention. Seriously, isn't he the guy with the really good personal website. I seem to remember he also did some community service. I remember him as a really nice kid and if you find a way to contact him, let us all know. We're all behind him. |

This punishment is a joke...a pure joke. Especially for a heat of the moment retaliation by a player with no previous recored of dirty hockey.

If you ask 100 posters what they think about Mother Theresa, you'll find a couple who hate her and the Catholic Church. A chacun son gout! Perezhogin is not a criminal to me. He made a very bad decision and is paying the penalty. He did a worse thing than Bertuzzi did (an opinion not shared by come posters). But he is not a criminal! I support young kids who are first time offenders. If it happened a second time................. |

Ok, ok, that's bad. I also feel sorry for him. He's known to be a really nice guy. He had ONE major during the regular season. It's like Paul Karya swinging his stick at waist level and connecting with the face of an opponent. No way the NHL suspends him for an entire season. Giving his history, you ought to have a 'reasonable doubt' that it was not intentional.
I guess just write to the Habs or the Bulldogs, they will send your message to him.
