A soccer match in Egypt turned deadly when fans rushed the field after the home team won an unexpected victory over the best team in Egypt on Wednesday, setting off clashes and a stampede that left at least 73 people dead and 1,000 injured in a Mediterranean port city.
It was the worst incident of soccer violence in Egypt and the deadliest worldwide since 1996. One player said it was “like a war.” Insanity

This is really disappointing to see. It's almost a reason never to attend any games - in any sport - because you don't know how people are going to react.

For some, it's apparent that their connection to a sports' team is truly out of control. We've talked about our own experiences in NHL rinks/NFL stadiums. Add alcohol, and it's like gasoline on a fire.
I can't imagine wanting to inflict bodily harm on another person because my team lost to theirs...even if they taunt me.
The ONLY thing that gets under my skin a bit, is when I see a Boston fan strutting around. My mind goes directly to Lucic, Chara, Ference, Neely, Cherry, Milbury, Jack Edwards....

My mind goes directly to Lucic, Chara, Ference, Neely, Cherry, Milbury, Jack Edwards.... ...Bucyk, O'Reilly, Cashman, Wensink, Jonathan, Secord, Schmautz, MacTavish, Linesman, Crowder....many, MANY reasons to have hated, HATED, this franchise!
