Tom Thompson, the Minnesota Wild's Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel, answered a few questions to help preview the upcoming 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Thompson is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club's scouting department and is in charge of the preparation and selection of players at the annual Entry Draft. Q: What are some of the needs the team has right now that you would like to alleviate in the 2004 Draft? A: When we look at needs, we first look at the way the game is being played now and what the trends are. If you look at just your particular club, you’re never quite sure where you’re going to be in three or four years with the personnel you have, so that would be a dangerous way to look at it. - www.wild.com/team/008/661/
