tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=391598The kid is 6' 2" and 212 lbs (some have posted he is up to 223 lbs). Nice size, not sure if he plays tough or not. edit: checked out the comments in the TSN article and one guys posted the following" I've seen him play often, he is a beast defensively, throws his weight around with authourity and is very mobile for a guy his size. He was the #1 defenceman on a very, very good michigan hockey program. Also found the following on Hockey I/O Via twitter;
Greg_Pateryn; Excited and blessed to be part of the @canadiensmtl organization
mac_bennett; Congrats to @greg_Pateryn on signing a deal. Can’t wait to see my cut on that big signing bonus. #friendshipfees
These two are not only defensive partners but also are roomies.

These two are not only defensive partners but also are roomies. A good depth signing. The kid is a good stay at home, responsible defender, and really complements the free skating and skill abilities of Mac Bennett wonderfully. He also plays a decently physical game. He actually turned down the offer of an amateur try out contract to join the Dogs for their last six games or so in order to finish up his degree. He wants to go to medical school if hockey does not work out or once hockey is done. I have seen quite a few of Michigan's games on TV over the last few seasons and the Pateryn-Bennett duo were quite good. I am very much looking forward to seeing what Bennett can do once he signs his first contract. Hope Dr. Recchi isn't his role model for combining hockey and dishing out medical advice. Welcome aboard!!

He could turn out to be more than just a depth player. Could be our own Randy Gregg.

These two are not only defensive partners but also are roomies. Size is always good unless your name is Komisarek.
