Pat Hickey once again shows his lack of professional sportswriting. In today's Montreal Gazette he writes a rather boring article on tomorrow's draft. Basically it's a large column that says little. He speculates that the Habs will likely draft from the ranks of the NCAA simply because in 3 of the last 4 years the Habs 1st pick has come from the NCAA. The best however is that he lists the following players that the Habs will be looking at when picking 18th. A.J. Thelen (probably gone before 18) Wes O'Neil (probable 2nd rounder who Pat describes as a smooth skater!) And this is the best..... in true Pat Hickey's clueless fashion: Andre Pineault!!!! Last time I checked his name was Adam. Dammit, we in Montreal deserve better quality columnists. Maybe Mathias Brunet can moonlight with the Gazette?

It could be a lot worse - think Strachan or Garrioch.

I also liked how last year the Habs drafted Bryan O'Byrne...
Must be Ryan's brother.

But he makes up for his inaccuracy and dearth of sources with insight and wit.

His articles should be on the comics/games page. Call it "Spot the Inaccuracy" by Pat Hickey.

Pat Hickey is what you get when you aspire to mediocrity. He is an Expo's shortstop that other teams don't want, not a Pedro Guerrero or Gagne. (It's amazing the number of players who played for the Expo's before starring for other teams) I'll take Red Fisher at 100 years old over Hickey. I'll take a 6'5" draft dodger when there is a war going on over Pat Hickey. Pat is what you get after your neck is bruised!
