I guess it isn’t the end of the world after all. James Lovelock, the maverick scientist who became a guru to the environmental movement with his “Gaia” theory of the Earth as a single organism, has admitted to being “alarmist” about climate change and says other environmental commentators, such as Al Gore, were too. the full article I’m sure we are going to hear “we were off but eventually we’ll be proven right” and that we should all still go out and by CFC light bulbs [filled with mercury, a broken bulb should be cleaned up by someone in a hazmat suit!!!], buy hybrid vehicles [many of which are getting worse mileage than newer cars and VW diesels], and pay exorbitant amounts for hydro [in Ontario there is so much excess hydro that the government is selling our electricity to the States at a loss of millions a day while raising our rates. So glad I live in such a prosperous province.

Capitalism at its finest, too. How many corporations launched GREEN products/services....or even the message that "they care"? And there's guilt on daily basis directed at us for killing the planet. While I concede that heavy industry and our reliance on petroleum and petro-chemicals has caused damage.....let's remember that climate change has been going on for 4.5 or so billion years on this planet. I remember John Oakley, on his AM640 Toronto morning show, bringing up stats to counter those of his guest, David Suzuki. Suzuki, infuriated that someone could possibly argue against "the facts", walked out of the interview. As far as Nobel recipient Al Gore is concerned.... Al's $9 million villa.....more links at the bottom. From a 2007 link: In fact, just two months ago, ABC News.com estimated soon-to-be-Nobel Laureate Al Gore's net worth at $100 million, which isn't bad considering that he was supposedly worth about $1 million when he watched George W. Bush get sworn in as president in January 2001. Talk about your get-rich-quick schemes, how'd you like to increase your net worth 10,000 percent in less than seven years?
Wonder what he's worth 5 years later.....

I'm ready to launch my latest green product, the methane detector and storage bag called Flatulameter and FlatuStore. Think how cool one can be if they wore my latest in green technology. Let's say thee is a Gia worshiping and latte slurping party. Everyone there is wearing the now not so cool Andes hat and you show up with the latest in green technology. Holding the big red Flatulameter the size of a lunch box in one hand and the green coloured FlatuStore gas bag in the other, you would be the coolest guy in the room. Think of all the fun you will have by gorging on Mexican and then demonstrating it for hours! Or sharing the equipment! Suzuki would be PROUD of you!.
But,......
One day it's global cooling, the next day it's global warming, the following day it's climate change, after that, it's climate disruption and now, it's climate hysteria apologizing. How is a poor little inventor like me supposed to make billions if they keep changing their Apocalypse's?
I'm worried.

Amazing how there's so much green in something so full of brown.
See Don Cherry.
