I had forgotten that between Hogan's Heroes and Match Game, he was a regular on Laugh-In. I read that he was the one who introduced Bob Crane to John Henry Carpenter. A sordid story which many believe ended in Crane's murder. At any rate...do you think Dawson had fun in his heyday? Survey says, Yes! Here's a 2010 in-depth interview conducted by the Archive of American Television. ArchiveClick the CHAPTERS tab under the video screen and select what you want to see. In Chapter 2, he speaks of the Carpenter story. Still holds him as one of his best friends....and takes the acquittal as proof of innocence.
