For me he'll be best-remembered for playing Sheriff Taylor on "The Andy Griffith Show". Just one of the shows I grew up with.

Andy as one of my models for parenting and I hope I was 1/2 as good as the Sheriff.

I absolutely adored this man and, needless to say, was saddened by this news.
