If the rule is the same as last year and teams can only field players who have less than 1 year AHL playing time, then the Leafs will have to pass on Wellwood, Bell and Carlo Coco. That is a pretty weak team sans le trio. Define less than one year AHL experience. Neither of the three played all games last year, so to me that is less than one year.

Just looked atthe Leafs D-Camp roster.
Barrett - Likes to bang and crash. Not a pure talent but is willing to get dirty to get points.
Ondrus - An agitator. Skates pretty well, enjoys the physical game
Wellwood - If he has the puck cover the other 4 men and let him do what he wants. He hogs the puck from end to end and when he gets to the net he NEVER shoots. I think I have seen him shoot maybe 10 times last year and on more than have he fanned on it. He fancies himself as a playmaker and tries to make fancy passes. Breathe on him and he falls down, the problem being he is so damn fast you can't get a breathe on him.
Williams - Saw him in a few games last year when he was pulling spot duty. He is a good player, not great, but reliable at both ends. This will be the guy who scores most of their goals.
The defense is really good and capable. That will be a good test for the Habs prospects who go to the net.
The goaltending is terrible. Racine is talented. But when he had to face shot after shot, breakaway after breakaway .... well let just say it takes its toll on a youngsters confidence.
