I see from the record label, Dis...that song's from 1976. Disco was well underway. Some unlikely bands caved for a hit or two. And this song has that disco beat and feel for sure. Great tune, nonetheless. The Disco era is reviled by many...but there was a lot of fantastic songwriting, performing, arranging, and producing going on. I wonder if the Bee Gees were influenced a bit by this recording. The chorus is very "Bee Gees disco". And Saturday Night Fever wasn't released until November of 1977.
Some rock artists who bowed to the Disco god: (not saying as I blame them, business-wise, as they picked up a whole new set of fans)
1. Rod Stewart, "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" 2. Rolling Stones, "Miss You" 3. KISS, "I Was Made For Lovin' You"
Does anyone recall the others? Many of their hardcore fans thought they'd sold out.

The Kinks when they came out with "Superman", Paul McCartney with "Coming Up" and "Goodnight Tonight", Rolling Stones "Miss You", Uriah Heep "On the Rebound" and even Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" were disco sell outs in my opinion. I don't include Bowie's "Lets Dance" only because he had a reputation for doing the unusual.
Frank Zappa came out with Sheik Yerbouti and the song "Dancing Fool", the ultimate anti-disco disco song. Ironically enough, one of his best.

Speaking of Zappa and playlists. In 1976, he agreed to produce Grand Funk's final album, "Good Singin' Good Playin'"....because he not only liked their music, but he felt that the critics had been too harsh on them...and he felt a kinship to that aspect. Must've been Zappa's cynicism that put him in tough with the critics. He always made sure he had among the best musicians in his bands. Amazing stuff. Anyway, many GFR fans consider it to be their best recording...capturing a LIVE sound without the studio polish. Zappa plays lead on one track: "Out To Get You", which has also been on my driving playist. I've read some Zappa fans say it's among his best solos. Farner might be playing the second solo (beginning at 2:07). But the first (at 1:00) and third (at 3:20) are definitely Zappa. While I'm fully aware that some people may slot this information under "Who cares?" ...I think it's worth a listen for any Zappa fans here who didn't know about it.

Had to add to the playlists. Made this up from some favourites I could find on You Tube. Maybe open a second browser and take a listen while you're surfing:

The soundtrack to the movie Heavy Metal is simply outstanding. I use to play it to death in my younger and more foolish days. I think I still have the cassette somewhere. Might just put it on. It's been a while.
