He said two recent events helped him decide that “it’s time to go”: his daughter’s wedding and the Ontario Liberal Party’s annual general meeting, where he sailed through a confidence vote. McGuinty said watching his daughter tie the knot made him realize that he wanted to spend more time with his family. Knowing that his party supported him made the decision to leave a lot easier, he said. Link I think there might be more to it that that, Dalton. 1. e-health, ORNGE air ambulance, two power plant cancellations in Oakville and Mississauga...the latter resulting in a contempt motion levelled at Energy Minister Bentley. So McGuinty steps down and prorogues the legislature. Stave off the wolves...for now. Cut and run. 2. Knows he has no shot at winning the next time around....cut and run...Mulroney-style. 3. Speculation that he plans to throw his hat into the Federal Liberal Leadership. If true, I'd rather have Trudeau in that position than somebody who resigns as Premier of a province for pure opportunism. I would hope Canadians aren't that easily duped. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Ont. Libs decimated in the next election. Seeing as McGuinty has basically handed the reins to the PCs....is Hudak up to the challenge?

can't see that the Libs will be decimated -- what is the alternative?
Tory's don't have a leader -- or a leader that people will vote for. the Libs are Tory lite with lotsa baggage . . . but in an election you'll hear that Hudak is Harris revisited. And Horvack is Rae re-visited.
minority government coming up

Hudak is a waste. I'm conservative (economic. not social) did what little I could do in the Ford and Harper campaigns but didn't raise a finger for Hudak.

lots of people are raising a finger for Hudak.
he is the reason that McGuinty won a minority, and is the reason that Horwath will win a minority.
