For those of us who partake....how about a quick HabsRus reference for cocktails, martinis, shooters usually reserved for this time of year.
A couple of shooters we've enjoyed the last couple of years.
"Starry Night" (other names I'm sure) -equal parts Jagermeister and Goldschlager (both in the freezer)
"Peppermint Patty" -equal parts Peppermint Schnapps and White Creme de Cacao (again, cold is best).

MANLY DRINKS:
- Shot of Irish Creme in a glass of Egg Nog. Add cinnamon if desired. - Shot of spiced rum in a warmed mug of apple cider, with an added cinnamon stick.

Special martini I've had once before...and will enjoy several times this season. Because of the ingredients/recipe, I call it a.... Burnt GooseMartini glass and Grey Goose Vodka in the freezer. Pour a tiny amt. of scotch into the ice cold martini glass. Tip and rotate the glass, "burning" (coating) the entire inside surface with the scotch. Pour any remaining scotch back into its bottle. Pour in the ice cold Grey Goose. Nothing else. Add a few large olives. Bang! Best vodka martini I've ever had. The scotch gives it that extra zing. You might want to keep several glasses in the freezer.

Yep. Johnnie Walker Black is my holiday mainstay. Matt, I like your suggestions. We've done the Baileys and egg nog before. Addictive. I'll have to give that one a go some time. I developed a disliking for Johnnie Walker after I drank a few other scotches. Holiday drinks? Here's a scotch I picked up at the Duty Free shop in Ottawa. A 1.14 ltr bottle of Macallan 12-year-old was $52 and is by far the best scotch I've tasted to date: For Martinis I use Bombay Sapphire Gin with Martini & Rossi vermouth. Have a strong liking for the garlic-stuffed olives available at Costco ... three minimum. Then there's the old reliable Bailey's and coffee for Christmas morning.
