It's happened several times before....
But what a class to get snubbed.
Bonds, Clemens, Raines, Piazza, Walker.....
I understand how voters could still hold grudges against Clemens and Bonds...
But Mike Piazza....what's the deal there? Perhaps the greatest offensive catcher of all time.
I mean, if they're going to discriminate against PEDs, isn't that going to negate the majority of players?
Listening to some pundits who say the MLB record book means nothing to them any longer.

I think Piazza didn't get in because the writer's don't want any player from the "steroid era" to get in on the first ballot.
Statistically, Piazza deserves to be included. Anecdotally, his stats are being judged as guilty by association. I guess the writers are saying "there isn't any proof ....yet". One writer actually said, he was waiting to read Piazza's soon to be released book to see if it sheds any light on some of his questions.
I've read that many suspected Piazza of steroids use because he had acne on his back. But he as never been linked to steroids.
