The Dogs are going to be very tough to beat this year and look good for their 3rd first place finish! The question mark is the Defense and goaltending. I'm not sold on Ellis, but I'm overboard on Danis. The concern I have is more the turnover of the defense, with Cote, and maybe Plante as the only full time returnee's. Komisarek though adds a lot and Archer did see some time.
Hamilton could look like,
Higgins Plekanec Kostitsyn Dusablon Ott Milroy Lambert Morgan Miettinen Larrivee Locke Ferland
extras, Urquhart, Ivanas
Daley Komisarek Cote Archer Shasby Plante
ext Flood, Glenn? (doubtful)
Danis Ellis
ext, Michaud

Some good and interesting additions by Dallas. Some experienced, but young, talent that will boost the Bulldogs' lineup. All have played in the NHL. Trevor Daley seems to have this knack of having news following him around as Joe Malone over at HF points out: He left the SSM Greyhounds at the end of his career when John Vanbiousbrook uttered a racial slur about him. www.canoe.ca/Slam030310/chl_ssm-sun.htmlHe also got charged with uttering death threats this summer against a door man/bouncer at a popular T.O. night club. slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NH.../31/610462.html

I'd send my best and brightest young pups to the Doug Jarvis Hockey School if I could.

Remind me, how many players are permitted on an AHL roster, and how many are dressed in a game?

Here is some of the scoop on them according to the HF link that Mr. B provided:
Daley
"He is an incredible skater who can take the puck from one end of the ice to another with ease. He has a great shot and good vision of the ice as well. His offensive instincts are refined, so he knows when to join or lead the rush. He has a very intense competitive streak and is not afraid to drop the gloves. " Ellis
"Hard-working goalie with extremely sound fundamentals who is determined to make the NHL. He also has good reflexes to go with his sound positioning."
Miettinen
"Miettinen possesses a very well-rounded game. His style is very smooth. Just about every part of his offensive package is good, whether it be passing, shooting, or skating. He can also handle physical play. Miettinen possesses excellent hockey sense and is sound positionally in all zones. He is a coach's dream since he accepts nearly any role given to him. "
Ott
"Explosive speed, good hands, excellent penalty killer, ferocious forechecker, great leader, stellar attitude and work ethic, extremely agitating."

I don't think they will hurt the team one bit. Sure beats Gainey having to sign some AHL fodder to fill the roster.

Daley is smaller than Brian Leetch, and we all saw that Leetch had trouble at times in containing his man.
