I like Archer. I had a chance to see him at the Rookie Camp last season and thought he was our best defenceman there. He didn't have much of an offensive game, but had a decent outlet pass, played a solid positional game, and had decent lateral movement for a 6'4" guy. He wasn't as physical as Cote, who was the most physical of the D at the tourney last year IMO (a main part why he likely got a contract).
I really like what I hear about Archer in both the development and rookie camp. He seems to have cranked his physical game up a notch and is already a guy quite willing to drop the gloves for the team. I am cheering for this guy in Hamilton this season. I imagine with Hainsey and Beauchemin both gone, Archer moves up the ranks quite nicely.
For those that haven't seen him live, when you see him from the stands, you swear you are seeing a Komo clone!!
