What's interesting is that the first year kicks in this season, so he will burn off the first year of his entry level deal in short order. On the flip side, he can actually play in Montreal if the team wants this season. Great to see him under contract. This kid has been fun to watch in the NCAA and has had a great final season, albeit coming up a bit short on his goal to win a national championship. I guess next stop is Hamilton for now.

Unfortunate to burn the first of the 2 years this year, but glad he's signed.

Kristo had the upper hand in neg. Where he could walk in Aug. Definitely. Could have done it last year too, but he chose to finish his degree.

Bulldogs are last in the conference so maybe Kristo will have some NHL time this season.

Bulldogs are last in the conference so maybe Kristo will have some NHL time this season. Would be interesting. I remember John Leclair made the jump straight to Montreal after 4 years at the University of Vermont. He was a late season callup in 1991 after his college season ended, and he never spent much time in the AHL. Kristo certainly has the speed to keep up. I'd like to see him get some time in Hamilton to get familiar with the system, but I would love to see him get a game or two in Montreal before the playoffs.

Hopefully Kristo joining Hamilton can get his old teammate and roomie Louis Leblanc going again, although the reports are he has been playing better of late.
As jkr mentioned, the stint in Hamilton will be limited as they are not going to make the playoffs, so he will have a small window to show that he is worthy of the callup. I expect he will get a peek for sure, especially if these injuries to top six forwards persist.
