They certainly finished strongly. They're a by committee team, and Bobo had a fantastic season in net. Flash in the pan? Hard to say. Their leading scoring was the ageless wonder Vinny Prospal. Gaborik seemed to adapt well to getting out of NYC.
If Jarmo is looking for help now, maybe they're someone to talk to about a deal around Plekanec. Maybe there's a deal around Pleks and either Tyutin or Johnson that could be worked out that involves some picks.
Jarmo has such a respected history at the draft that it's hard to imagine he'd forgo 3 picks for right now.
