Per Michael Russo, the Wild are trying to clear cap space, and these three guys are available. Zenon has one year at $1 million left on his deal. Make the call Berg!

A hitting machine with offense, and he grew up a Habs fan! Of course if the price is right I'd take all three...

Clutterbuck seems to be declining with his offensive numbers....not sure how his physical play is. Konopka would look great on the 4th line!!

Prust will be able to do only so much. Cheers.

Some GM in the East is gonna get Clutterbuck in an attempt to counteract the Bruins. Somebody to neutralize Lucic at the very least. And so, the Wild's asking price will be quite high.
I have little confidence it'll be MB.
I'm thinking Chicago wishes they had him about now.

Clutterbuck is now a RFA who made 1.7 last season according to www.nhlnumbers.com If you wanted him could you just make an offer sheet?

He delivers punishing hits, sure, but he'll need some backup in Montreal. Prust will be able to do only so much. Cheers. Sure, but the idea is to get tougher to play against, right? Granted, Clutterbuck isn't in the heavyweight category, but he definitely makes the team more difficult to play against. And isn't that what we want? How often have we heard that the Habs are an "easy" team to play against? He's not the uber-goon of course, but he is a player that other guys have to watch out for, and a guy that other people don't particularly enjoy seeing on the ice. He's led the league in hits like three different times, and been top 10 every other time. He's solid and a touch mean, and he's scored in double-digits several times already in his young career, playing on an offensively challenged team in Minnesota. Gotta be an upgrade over Armstrong, Halpern, Dumont and company, no?

Cal is bilingual, but as mentioned above I'm concerned about his ability to keep up that style. He's a supreme agitator, for sure. I think we need a little more physical finisher, than starter. He's a a RW. A little harder perhaps to slot him in. If you can move out Moen then there's more room. No way Minny takes him back though,as they're looking to trim.

I don't want fillers. If we are going to get tougher, do it right and get the better/best in their field. I like Prust but if his only role was fighting/checking, he would be the wrong guy. That is why I want Bordeleau.
It's no use getting third rate tough guys just because they are cheap. We are just going to have a line-up of fillers and get nowhere fast.

I don't think Konopka is filler. He's plenty capable of keeping teams honest. He'll win face offs too, which is why I think it's a no brainer move to inquire as to the cost.

Gotta be an upgrade over Armstrong, Halpern, Dumont and company, no? Oui man ... I'll go a bit further and say that everyone knows when he's on the ice. A smaller version of Igor Ulanov, but with more skill. Once he has you in his sights ... Got to back this guy up, though. If we're going to get tougher, then we have to be able to back that up. You're right, though. He's better than several on our team. Cheers.

I wonder if this is tied in with Kristo rumour?

Hard to say. I'm hearing that the Flames are interested in Kristo because they drafted his linemate at UND.

Man I've wanted Konopka for ages on the Habs. Perfect 4th line center. Clutterbuck would be welcomed as well.

I'd like both as well. Competitors. Chara won't say, "I didn't know who was on the ice" with those two around.

Was hoping we could use Kristo to lure him when he decided to not sign and test the market this summer. His dad does work the Flames and he is from down the highway. I really liked Matt Frattin too. Was bummed when the Laffs drafted him.

So if Konopka is traded it will be his 4th team in 4 years. Now, I'll be honest, I haven't seen him play at all this season but @ 1M per year, why would Minny not keep him if he was so efficient?
I like Clutterbuck though. For sure an upgrade over Moen for a similar salary.

There has to be a better option by now.

I wouldn't look too much into the moving around. He's a journeyman. His style also has a limited shelf life, and often leads to one year deals.

I'd take Clutterbuck any day of the week in Montreal. But he's a pretty effective grinder, no reason for the Wild to just give him up. I suspect he'd cost more to acquire than what we'd be willing to give.

5'11"! Not the physical contributor to throw fear into Chara and Lucic. Clutterbuck doesn't add size or scoring.

5'11"! Not the physical contributor to throw fear into Chara and Lucic. Clutterbuck doesn't add size or scoring. He may be 5'11" but he's about 220lbs...guy hits HARD. But if our prerequisite for acquiring players this summer is first and foremost someone who can throw fear into Chara/Lucic then we're going to be in trouble adding anyone.
