...Bulldogs lose pre-season squeakerExpositor Staff By Brian Smiley Local News - Thursday, October 07, 2004 @ 01:00 It wasn’t the homecoming Hamilton Bulldogs coach Doug Jarvis had envisioned. Jarvis, a Brantford native, returned home on Wednesday and was behind the bench as his Bulldogs were edged 3-2 by the Rochester Americans in an American Hockey League exhibition game in front of 2,143 spectators at the civic centre. After a long tenure as an assistant coach with the Minnesota and Dallas Stars from 1988 to 2002 — including their Stanley Cup season of 1998/99 — the 49-year-old took over the Bulldogs job for the 2003/04 season. One of the reasons he took the job was to move closer to home. _ www.brantfordexpositor.ca/webapp/sitepages/content.asp?contentID=82041&catname=Local+News
