And if you'd done so, you would have seen a 5-2 loss, dropping the Dogs down to .482. Most coaches with the type of record that Sylvain Lefebvre has would be collecting EI cheques. Bergevin's biggest failing so far?....his hiring of coaches. Not a record I'd be proud of. Especially Levebvre. The guy has a history of failure and we pick him to groom our best and youngest. Sigh.

Dogs mirrored the Habs last night and won in a shootout, winning their third in a row and third in three nights. The previous two wins were against the Marlies, a team that has given them fits this season. I think they play them something like 12 times this season, thanks to that weird unbalanced AHL schedule. With Robert Mayer off in Switzerland playing in the Spengler Cup, Mike Condon got the start and win last night.
The Dogs are very consistently inconsistent this season.

Six in a row for the streaky Dogs last night, with a 2-1 win over Rochester. Tokarski with the win, and Beaulieu and Courtnall with the goals. The Courtnall goal was originally credited to Leblanc and would have been the team leading 10th (yeah this team could score more goals), but it was changed. They are hanging around in a playoff spot, so that is way better than dead last in the league last season.

After seeing the Dogs get completely dominated last night and tonight in Abbotsford, I think the Habs may need to play closer attention to Lefebvre coaching methods. The team simply quit on him in both games. When a team plays the trap despite being down 4-0, you wonder what the coach is thinking. Player wise, except for Pateryn, Andrighetto, Tinordi and possibly Dietz, there doesn't seem to be much there that might be useful to the big team.

Here's a rare post on the Bulldogs, which is easy to understand given the pathetic record of the team. They're at .489, in a league where you get points for losing and where .550 is the new .500. Looks like goaltending did them in tonight against the Rockford Icehogs. What a great name. Andrighetto had 4 points, though and garnered 2nd star of the game. He was hot on the PP as 3 of his points came there. theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1011783Otherwise, Lefebvre's stellar record of being a loser, continues. Berg needs to contract out his coaching hires.

If he can step in and be the next Gallagher that certainly would give us some options. Not suggesting anything but I'm sure Gallagher would be an interesting part of any mega-deal that could be pulled off. Be nice to have his replacement ready if need be.

Beat me to it, NWT. Nice play on the 3rd goal where he outraced an IceHog to the Icehogging (sic)line and made a good quick pass to the trailer. The one difference with this kid compared to some of our other smurfs is that none of them are what I'd call really fast. This kid is really fast. If you're going to survive in the NHL at 5'9" and you're not a little torpedo like Gallagher, you'd better have tons of top end speed. Andrighetto can fly. So maybe there is a spot for him, if we can get rid of some of our other smurfs.

Granted this is at the AHL level, but it bodes well imo. Talent and work ethic usually lead to success. He's got both. He's a keeper, unless he's part of a deal for a significant upgrade.

So we're okay then, with Bergevin not including him, allegedly, perhaps, supposedly, according-to-rumour, maybe, possibly, with Bourque for Pierre Alexandre Parenteau?

Habs swap Steve Quailer to LA for Robbie Czarnick. Quailer has been injured so much and is a big guy who doesn't play big. He almost certainly wasn't getting qualified with the new young blood coming in this summer. Our new guy will likely suffer the same fate. Did okay back in his USNDT days, but doesn't put up big numbers or penalties.
Next.

Damn, I didn't see that game on the guide. Both goals you showed were pretty good ones, NWT. I suspect Tinordi just shocked the Marlies who wouldn't have expected the slightest bit of offense out of him.
Andrighetto's was sweet. He's moving up the prospect pool, for sure. Not likely to get a look this year as the club is heavy with bodies right now, but who knows? We can hope that MB will be lightening up that roster in quantity for quality.

Another loss by the Bulldogs, playing at a .490 clip. Dunno, I think they have some decent talent, huh?, especially on defense.
Take away some fake shootout points and the record is definitely below .500. I'm so impressed. Our farm teams used to be pretty good.

Tinordi has been recalled. He'll be at practice tomorrow. Hmmmm, is someone hurting? or does Berg think it will take a few days for PK to get over jet lag, so he'll rest him? Or....is there a trade in the works to be consummated after midnight EST?

Another loss for the Dogs tonight. That puts them 14th in a 15 team conference, with a .482 record. Remember, .550 is the new .500. Thank you Lefebvre. You are teaching the kids all the right things. This is how you develop a losing culture kids. Just keep thinking bad habits.
Bergevin, get your butt in gear and get a real development coach.

So we can see for ourselves exactly how the offense is sucked out of a team. Dogs have scored 138 goals, two more than the worst team in the entire league and one more than the second worst team in the entire league.

Three games in three nights...and no points. The playoffs are slipping away for these guys.
Why can't these guys score more goals?

I only watched the first so far, NWT, and there is an eerie resemblence to the Habs. Their system for coming out of their end seems confusing, at least to me. I want an easy pass to make, but too often the defense don't have an easy pass. How their forwards are set up for coming out of their own end is puzzling. There's very little transition game, so the team doesn't get easy breakouts and good chances on the rush. Hard to understand cause they have some decent defensemen. Drewiski, Pateryn and Beaulieu are all capable in that league.
