Sounds like an appropriate decision. A former AHL MVP, and leader by example so far in this young season. I guess that with the extreme youth of the 'Dogs squad he qualifies as a veteran presence.

Ward will also lead this team offensively within a few weeks. He's the veteran and right now probably the best forward there as well.
