Hamilton ends losing streakWed, November 24, 2004 ROCHESTER, NY – The Hamilton Bulldogs ended their eight-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Wednesday evening. Earning the win in net for the Bulldogs was Yann Danis, who stopped 28 of 29 shots. The Bulldogs opened the game’s scoring at the 12:13 mark of the first period, when Benjamin Carpentier took a one-timer shot from the slot that beat Amerks goaltender Ryan Miller. Nice to see Ward, Higgans and Kots finally get on scoreboard. It's these guys and Pleck's that are going to have to carry this team into the playoffs.

Does one win constitute a turnaround? The Bulldogs have a good goaltender. That is, half the time. They have skilled forwards who for some reason haven't lived up to their potential. They have a shaky defense. Something is lacking in chemistry and cohesion. Gainey shouldn't be pleased with the progress to date and probably isn't .
