Albeit 3 months late. January 22nd.
One of the all-time greatest Habs.
Scored the Stanley Cup winner in 1953 in overtime vs. Boston. Lach broke his nose in the ensuing celebratory embrace with the Rocket.
Phantom assist to Richard (the narrator mentions the assist/the PA announcer at the game confirms it in the clip)....when the film clearly shows captain Milt Schmidt (also recently turning 96) with a terrible pass right to Lach. Schmidt slides out to try and correct his error...and ends up on his butt for a perfect view of the celebration.

Elmer's. Son was in my class at Monklands High in NDG. Cool! I can't find any pictures or info on the web of his children/family. I have a book with a pic of Lach and the Rocket with their young sons dressed in Habs' gear. I'll try to post that somehow.

R.I.P. What a long, fruitful life!
Winning 3 Stanley Cups..scoring the 1953 Cup winner in OT (clip in original post in this thread.)
A member of the famed Punch Line.
Art Ross and Hart winner.
Hall of Fame.
Retired at the age of 36 in 1954.
Don't know anything about the final 61 years of his life, though….aside from seeing him show up for special occasions.
CBC Feature from 2009….when Elmer was 91.
