RDS reports that Komosarek underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage damage in his left hip. That will certainly delay his debut with the Cowdogs, who will continue their tailspin in his absence. Even the thought of his absence, much less the lack of his phyical presence, will be demoralizing to an already disheartened tram.

...who will continue their tailspin in his absence. You have that straight from Yvon Pedneault himself? Good God man, where's your backbone! The team will not fold up its tent and forfeit the rest of the season in the face of a liittle adversity. These are competitive professional athletes, not some front-running, lily-livered, whingeing fans. They will take their lumps like men and forge ahead.

Is this a minor one time thing or could it be the start of a Bo Jackson hip problem? Young guys with hip problems is not a good sign.....

Bo Jackson had hip degeneration secondary to inadequate circulation to the bone, a far more serious condition. (I wonder if he was taking steroids.)

Well, the good news is that the injury shouldn't be permanently disabling. And it comes at a fortuitous time while the Habs are idled by the lockout. No NHL games missed by Komi.
