... a second time! This time Pineda pitches the first in Boston, he's all over the place. Comes out in the second with it smeared all over his neck. So obvious from the dugout that Farrell comes out and gets Ump to check him. He gets tossed. Likely a suspension. www.tsn.ca/VideoHub/Default.aspx?collection=77&show=350494§ion=SportsAaron Boone, former Yankee, saying he doesn't mind it, just don't make it obvious. Sutcliffe, the former pitcher is definitely more against it. Boone may as well have been someone from CBC justifying the Leafs or Bruins, cause he later goes on about how pitchers should be allowed some sort of aide on cold nights where it's hard to grip the ball. Claims the Sox pitchers have used stuff. Pretty sad really. Baseball is famous for its gamesmanship. Cheating is cheating. Glad he got caught. Here's to a lengthy suspension. EDIT: Looks like the original video is no longer working. You can see 2 other videos including "What is pine tar?" in the hub.

Lots of pitchers have used "aids" in helping them gain an advantage. I see nothing wrong with it used on cold nights, I understand the issues with grip when its as cold as it has been.

It's always been part of the game. No doubt. He was just bloody terrible at hiding it. Bill of the hat anyone? Inside the belt, glove, something. The best have always been coy about it. Still, don't care for it. That said, maybe RA Dickey should employ some lol.

I find baseball too conservative. For example, they could use black and white gloves then keep them in motion after the pitch, perhaps some Italien slaute motion, wearing a woman bra outside their uniforms......
Whatever it takes to win......

I'm surprised you find anything too conservative (including Mistress Wanda)

MLB should legalize pine tar for pitchersTempest in a teapot. Should allow pine tar. Batters use it so bats don't slip out of their hands. Batters also don't mind if pitchers use it so balls don't wildly "fly" out of their hands. Pine tar doesn't affect the flight of the ball (other than allowing the pitcher to have a little more control).
