... and I was born in New Westminster ... go figure ... starting on 30 June from K-town to Vernon, BC ... will be in Calgary for the beginning of the Stampede then off to Vernon for a few days (family) ... never been through the Rockies ... back to Calgary for a few more days ... Medicine Hat for two days ... will be in Winnipeg for two/three days around the third week in July ... any and all advise/comments would really help ... besides, talking about this temporarily distracts me from the hockey hype that's running through me ... #thanksguys
Cheers.

If you like the wild life then you'll want to stay in Jasper...the Elk actually walk down the middle of the street....then you have the goats, bears etc. Very beautiful area, lots of lakes, mountains, hot springs....not bad price wise either when compared to Banff.

Dis, if you have the time take the south route [#3-3A-3] from Calgary rather than the Trans Canada. Little bit of a ferry ride to Nelson . . . Then on the way back you can hit the TC, go through Banff, take a side trip to "Dog River" [Rouleau SK where you can see the decaying Corner Gas bar] . . . just follow my trip from last summer . . . oh, man, I want an other sabbatical

Have a great trip! Prairies won't be too exciting. Rockies will look like a pimple for a while lol.
