ArticleTired of the scrutiny, I bet….especially now that Bernier is the official #1. Of course, with Reimer hailing from Morweena, Manitoba, the link to the Jest has been there from the start in trade rumors surrounding Reimer. With Ondrej Pavelec not being as good as he has been in the past, Reimer looks like a viable option for Winnipeg.
The reports that the Maple Leafs might be interested in the services of Martin Brodeur could also have something to do with this as time between the two reports wasn’t that long. Reimer might seen that as the Leafs basically saying, “We’re no longer in need of your services,” to him and took the first step himself by requesting a trade.
The Leafs won’t get much for Reimer. That is painfully obvious given the season that he had in 2013-14. Now, the fact that he wants out and everyone knows it will lessen the return even more. A mid-round pick in next years draft or a low-level prospect is the best the Leafs can hope for in a return.
With the trading season appearing to have started in the NHL’s off-season, it looks like the Leafs aren’t even close to being done.Of course, the Leafs and Brodeur are linked. Doesn't everybody want to play for Toronto??
