Kane's got warts. If he played here, most of us would be incredibly frustrated with him. Grass is always greener kind of thing.
I don't think he fits with the character theme MB is trying to push.

I'd rather have Wheeler, tbh, but Jets fans feel he's their best player and he isn't going anywhere.

I feel a Stones tune coming on . . . unfortunately pointed at us.

Kane reminds me a bit of Carey Price 1.0 Trusted into too big a role at a too young age on a team that badly needed his talent but did not have the proper leadership in place to handle a 19yr old potential star. Actual Kane is caught continually trying to catch up with the Should-be-Kane… When a kid is put into such position, maturity issues arise and it seems he can never do or say the right things… obviously… he’s a kid… 3 things happened to Price, number one, a new management team who decided they will help Price reach the next level instead of trying to cover up… number 2 the emergence of other high profile players on the team (Subban, Pacioretty) that took some of the pressure of his shoulders and lastly, of course, at 26 Price is by the simple effect of years passing, a more mature individual than he was at 20…

There's no doubt that it is easy to forget he's just 22. IMO, this is where our pro scouts and development guys earn their pay. One, do they like him enough as a player to look passed issues? Two, do they think a new environment with new leaders and mentors can fix whatever they think isn't working? Three, do they think he feels the same way? If the answer to any of those is 'no', you walk away.

His recent interview on TSN Radio certainly fanned the flames about his potential for leaving the organization.

I remember a promising youngster with a bad rep that was forced to leave town because he may or may not have done something reprihensible.
Wound up playing for the Habs in a leadership role but in his prime he was regarded as one of the greatest Leafs in history.

Wish we had him for face-offs. But he'd be a smurf today.

there was more than one great Leaf? There was one great leaf? How dare you insult the great Yannick Perreault. Anyone that plays/played for the Habs had the leaf purged. Unless he stunk as a Hab - then the Leafs are welcome to Him!
