Molson's has now been told that they can sell their beer at the Molson Centre while the Habs are on the road ... I don't know why, but I envision this possibly being a new tradition with a lot of the fans ... take the Metro to the Bell Centre and enjoy the road game ... and it would be a walk for others living downtown ... I'd watch games from there, if I were in Montreal ... wonder how hard this will impact local businesses ... would the BC be considered the largest tavern in the area? ... LINK ... Cheers.

I'd be suprised if they actually do it regularily during the season... I think they'll only do it for special events like they did in the playoffs.

Yeah, I can hear local bars righteously crying foul if it was every road game.

There would definately be howls from restaurants and pubs. I remember them saying they were losing money hand over fist during the lockout. It would be great for the fans. Habs and Leafs on a Saturday Night in torrana and you get to watch the game with 18,000 of your closest friends

I would go if I was in Montreal.....It would be even better if they charged $5 to $10 and gave the gate money to one of the charities.

Yeah, I can hear local bars righteously crying foul if it was every road game. As a matter of fact it was the owner of Le Manoir in Pointe-Claire, Peter Segakis, who sued Molson because his liquor licenses didn't allow for the sale of alcohol for a non live event. Liquor board sided with Molson, go figure.

Unless Molson matches (or betters) the price of admission, or donates some of his highly-lucrative beer/food sales...then he does nothing but gain.
(That said, I'm sure the corporation does a ton for charity.)
