OK folks, that time of year again. I'm a little behind this year, lots going on at home. I've just renewed the league and everyone that was in last year will have received an email to the address Yahoo has with an invitation to the league.
If anyone else wants in, please let me know, either by PM or just posting in this thread.
Draft is set for Thursday, October 2nd, 8:00 pm EDT. I also removed the "Faceoffs Lost" Category, as it seemed to mainly be a trade off with "Faceoffs Won".

looks like an autodraft this year . . . on the road though home sometime in the evening. maybe I can push it, ignore the perogies, and make it close to the starting time.

I've sent you an invitation through Yahoo to the email address attached to your board profile. We need to have an even number of teams to live draft, so we'll need one more person to sign up or one of last years players to not return.

Bummer ... if you think you still won't make it to Ottawa on time let me know and I can set up a second terminal here ... Cheers.

If the league still needs some balancing out, I can be the next person to join.

Frozone, I've sent you an invitation through Yahoo to the Gmail account listed with the board here. I'll accept everyone in and if we have an even number with a couple of days to go, i'll lock it down. Last years players, get on your registrations! I don't want to leave you out in the cold.

I personally have no problem with the date for the draft, but was just wondering if it wouldn't be easier to have it on the weekend so everyone should be able to attend?

I personally have no problem with the date for the draft, but was just wondering if it wouldn't be easier to have it on the weekend so everyone should be able to attend? I find weekends are actually tougher to organize people, unless it's done on a Sunday morning. We're still at 13 teams. Reaper and HFLA have been invited but have not responded. We need one of them to join so that the draft can go ahead. If we don't get one of them to join in the next day or two, we'll have to open it up to one more.

I find weekends are actually tougher to organize people, unless it's done on a Sunday morning. I don't think it's possible to find a time that will work for everyone, especially given time zone problems. this isn't the best time for me, but it is what it is -- I've been lucky every other year.

Had a good time at the draft ... Nathan Beaulieu and Jiri Sekac better make the team ... I drafted both of them ... Brandon Prust rounded out my Habs selections ... as soon as I saw I was drafting 10th I knew I wouldn't get Carey Price ... as it was he went 4th overall ... here's the Kingston Canadians:
Centres
Patrick Sharp, Chi, C/LW Jason Spezza, Dal, C Gustav Nyquist, C/RW
Left Wing
Matt Moulson, Buf, LW Brandon Saad, Chi, LW/RW
Right Wing
Marian Gaborik, LA, RW Vladimir Tarasenko, StL, RW
Defence
Erik Karlsson, Ott, D Victor Hedman, TB, D Olli Maatta, Pit, D Nathen Beaulieu, Mtl, D
Utility
Tomas Tatar, Det, LW Aleksander Barkov, Fld, C
Goaltenders
Ben Bishop, TB Jonathan Bernier, Tor Alex Stalock, SJ
Bench
Jiri Sakec, Mon, LW Brandon Prust, Mon, LW Carl Soderberg, Bos, C/LW
Edit: following Bones' lead, here are my combinations for what might be a middle-of-the-road team:
Forwards
Moulson/Sharp/Gaborik Saad/Spezza/Tarasenko Tatar/Barkov/Nyquist Sakec/Soderberg/ Prust (LW)
Defence
Karlsson/Hedman Maatta/Beaulieu
Goaltenders
Bishop, Bernier, Stalock

Goalies went fast. Forgot about Cs. As always, it is what it is, and I'll rely on a lot of luck -- my guys getting hot against a cold team at the right time.
Patrick Kane (Chi - C,RW) Alexander Steen (StL - C,LW) Brayden Schenn (Phi - C,LW)
Brad Marchand (Bos - LW) Mats Zuccarello (NYR - LW)
Martin St. Louis (NYR - RW) Wayne Simmonds (Phi - RW)
P.K. Subban (Mon - D) Tobias Enstrom (Wpg - D) Tyler Myers (Buf - D) Kimmo Timonen (Phi - D)
Blake Wheeler (Wpg - RW) Brendan Gallagher (Mon - RW)
Kari Lehtonen (Dal - G) Roberto Luongo (Fla - G)
Pascal Dupuis (Pit - LW,RW) Tyler Bozak (Tor - C) Filip Forsberg (Nsh - C,RW) Robin Lehner (Ott - G)
(a little embarrassed that Marchand and Bozak are on my team but possible points take precedence)

Don't feel bad ... I've got Jonathan Bernier ... you're right about the goaltenders because they did go fast ... I've got Alex Stalock and I'm hoping SJ eventually has enough of Niemi ... hoping to get three goaltender starts out of the three I have but who knows ...
Cheers.

Sekera Z. Chara - J. Trouba Z. Bogosian C. Price S. Varlamov I had four players on my list that you drafted that included your two goaltenders ... I was able to get McDonagh in the late rounds last year ... Will be interesting to see if Varlamov can carry Colorado this year, too ... I had Niemi last year and while he racked up the wins, he went into what I call "the Marty Turco mode" ... I had Turco as a second goaltender right behind Ryan Miller (who I had in my pool for years) and he turned out to be a sub-900 goaltender who wiped out anything good Miller brought to the table ... Niemi was above the 900 mark but he was pulled more times last year than I care to research ... that's why I chose Stalock ... hopefully the Sharks play him a bit more this year ... Cheers.

Bishop and Bernier you'll be fine. I'm hoping to get three wins this season Bernier was probably the best of what was left at that point ... the 5th round, #66 overall ... I hope the Leaf defence corps has improved ... Bernier will see more rubber than a dead skunk on the 401 ... Bishop was a risk having just come off surgery but I read that he felt fine ... was surprised to see Erik Karlsson still available ... I had him in another pool about two years ago and he ended up being the leading scorer on my roster ... I'm thinking the tradeoff might be his +/- though ... Cheers.

I have you at the top of the chain this year . . . nice draft ;-) It's all skill!! I had Steve Mason for two years before moving on ... he had an outstanding rookie campaign only to lay an egg in his sophomore year ... that was the same year Luongo decided he was going to put his feet up, and yes, I had him, too ... Mason seems to have found his mojo again in Philly, though, and like Franko, I like your lineup ... Cheers.
