However, Therrien confirms he'll be back by Monday.. The Canadiens sent forward Michael Bournival down to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday after practice. He will report to Hamilton immediately, and could suit up for games against Toronto (Oct. 17) and Rockford (Oct. 18) this week. Therrien, confirmed, however, that Bournival would return to Montreal next Monday.Cheers. Edit: The article also states that Emelin was back at practice today.

Better to get some serious game time in this weekend with all the Habs forwards healthy.

kudos MN. Better to send him down and see some action then languish in the stands.
Now Bournivals job is to score two hat tricks and PROVE that he belongs in the line-up.

He might be back Monday, but barring an injury or something he'll probably go back down next Thursday or so, as the Dogs play three games in three nights next weekend.
Or maybe Sekac will go down. I don't think Sekac has been bad, but at some point you have to start putting some points on the board. Maybe Sekac needs to wrack up a couple of points in the AHL just to keep his confidence level up.

I'm fine with giving Sekac a solid look at the NHL level, but Bournival is the better player right now. He's earned the right to be in the lineup and his tenacious forechecking is a huge asset, IMO. The kid is being patient but Sekac is obviously taking Bournival's spot in the lineup. You earn your ice time, as Berg keeps saying. Bournival has earned his and so far Sekac has not.

I'm happy with Sekac's play. He's engaged and has not been a liability. The points will come (once Dmen stop making miraculous diving saves). I wouldn't sit him until the 10 game mark if he hasn't produced. His upside is huge and is entitled to a decent period to acclimatize.

Broaden your horizons gentlemen. Bournival should definitely be in the line-up, but its Bourque who should be out. Once again, salaries determine who gets ice time, not merit.

Or simply put Bournival on the line with Eller and Sekac. Bournival's an excellent passer, so I could see him setting up Sekac.

I keep on hoping that Berg..is waiting for the opportunity to dump this part timer. Florida Panthers would be a good place. On second thought Gallant would not want to take him.

The Habs only play one game between now and the Monday night game in Edmonton. The boys can get two of the three-in-three games in with Hamilton this way and still travel out west with the team on Sunday. Nathan has not played in a while, so good to get him some real game action. Bournival has only played in the two Dogs's games last weekend. Ditto.

I think Bournival is better than 4th-line duty ... he'd make an ideal 3rd-line winger on any team but he's proved he could keep up with Pleks (and Gionta) on the 2nd line if need be ... I'd like to see him eventually replace Bourque in the lineup but the team is 6-1 right now ...
Cheers.

Not only will they rack up the frequent flyer points, but won't all this bouncing up and down save the Habs even a few more dollars against the all-mighty cap, thus freeing up even more money for that big deadline deal?

I believe these two call ups put them at the 23 man roster upper limit. I suspect Bourque could get scratched. I'd like to see Sekac playing somewhere. He can be moved up and down.

Beau is in for Tinordi tonight, no changes to the forwards. Sasky's Tokarski gets the start. This would have been a great game to get Bournival in for his season's debut. Moen and Bork out, Bournival and Sekac in. Another time I guess.

Bourque is out? What?! Did the devil have to put on his down filled parka? I'm flabbergasted (a word I especially enjoy using)
