Brutal discipline. Surprised they killed all 7 penalties.

That was all Carey, man is he good. We're so lucky to have him. Calgary deserved so much better.

...unbelievable...
the amount of players on this team who are saved by the team's standing to which they absolutely don't contribute is amazing...
...like the win...hate the effort...again...

Start the car. Let Carey get in and speed away leaving the rest of the bums behind. Maybe fit the Gals in the back seat. But the rest of them were an embarrassment.
Markov was dreadful again. PK average. Emelin is awful - slow and no hockey sense. Gilbert will never be any good.
Max in a slump - loses puck on a breakaway? DD not much better.
Why is Bourque playing? He does nothing except cherry pick now and then. Why is Sekac not playing. He's been good and has scored a goal. Something Bourque has yet to do.

All Carey.
We're getting hosed by the refs. Getting held to different standard than the teams we're playing. I wonder if we got hit hard with the diving fines and the refs are getting even.

Carey! Carey! last 4 games he has been as dominant as we have seen.....frustrated with the teams game concerned they seem so gassed in back to backs this early in the year.
Points are points lets hope we see some consistency in more than one game.
Good thing looks like Price may be at that elite elite level which gives them chance to win almost every night
Bournival and Sekac should be in

Something should be said about the reffing. It was pathetic.
Tinordi's penalty was a joke. Sure it was knee on knee but just because one player gets the worst of it doesn't mean the other gets a penalty. Tinordi is the one with the puck and he makes no move to attempt to hit Stajan's knee. IT WAS A HOCKEY PLAY! Meanwhile Kyprisoff says Tinordi can expect further discipline form the league. That would be a joke. And why is there no penalty for the mugging Tinordi took after the play. Two flames jumped him.
Emeiln's hook may have been a hook but Bollig sure embellished.
And my biggest beef with the refs is how Carey was being slaughtered in his crease all night and no calls. Thanks for protecting the goalie.

Sekac and Bournival should of played. 3rd game in 4 nights, the guys were obviously gassed. Some fresh legs would have helped.
Pretty sure we lead the league in minors now. Does anyone really believe that should be the case?

Does anyone really believe that should be the case? i saw both Sekac and Bournival outside the dressing room while PA was being interviewed. They both looked ready! Can you read that MT? Not surprising we lead the league when the refs constantly call us for embellishment. We get mugged after every whistle and then get called when we finally retaliate. BGal can't go anywhere near the other teams net without getting called or a goal being disallowed and the other teams run Carey at will.

We won? When I went off, I thought we were down by 2.
This is great news, but for crying out loud, do we have to do it through a blender?

Flames playing really well, despite not having a lot of talent. Wonder who their coach is? And yes, I may rag on that for a while. Bourque should have been sat down 5 games ago. No way Sekac isn't a better player than him. Bournival should also be dressed. I'd be at least platooning Bournival and Moen. Moen's played well defensively, but Bourny has the ability to pot one, and Moen isn't at that level offensively. Therrien's line up decisions can be very puzzling at times. Vancouver up next with only one days rest. They also have a coach who seems to win everywhere he's gone (like a guy called Hartley). It's going to be a difficult game, but I think its on Sportsnet Pacific so I should get to see it. That will allow me to really rant.

I thought TSN would at least mention Price standing on his head ... instead they focused on Johnny Hockey and how Markov wasn't penalized for taking the net off its moorings ... oh well ... winning in Calgary is a good thing ... hope our attendees had a good time ...
Cheers.

The reffing is atrocious and kypreos should shut the hell up... The league did nothing about Kreiders hit, watch them jump all over Tinordi and give him a suspension just so he has a 'track record'. The NHL really does blow.

I didn't see the game, but I've watched the Tinordi hit this morning. I can't see how that would result in supplementary discipline. The only angle that shows even the slightest hint of a knee going forward is the one from behind the net, and even then it's pretty clear that Tinordi is bracing his upper body to make the hit. So unless Tinordi is uber-coordinated, able to make the split-second decision to thrust out his knee, keep his other leg straight, lean forward and raise his arms for a hit I don't think there was any intent. Unfortunate, and Stajan looks badly hurt there, but no way do I think that warrants a suspension.

I agree with the sentiments concerning the refs. The Flames sold it a few times and these morons bought it. And how could the ref behind the net on the shootout call Goudreau's effort a goal when clearly it went in on a second shot. Goudreau knew it wouldn't count but the refs don't know the rule book? Pathetic.
I don't feel sorry for Calgary at all. They had plenty of good looks & missed the net numerous times; 7PPs that they whiffed on. Too bad.
Bourque has to go, I don't care where, just anywhere other than the starting lineup.

Cheers. I hate the Moniker for Gaudreau... Funny they never mention Giordano nailing Gallagher into the post.... The joy of torranna media... It must kill them that the Habs are playing poorly and still winning games they shouldn't. Given how many players played poorly last night, how does MT justify benching Eller and not Bork? Markov had a bad game and played almost 30 minutes. Time to sit Bork and Moen and bring in Sekac and Bournival and put them on either side of Eller and have Weise on the 4th line with Prust and Malholtra. I would also like to see bGal with Pleky and Pappy and Agal with DD and Patches, this way the small guys are split between the 2 top lines.

Calgary has several very good and very fast young defensemen. Faster than our guys for sure.

Terrible game last night....we were very lucky to get the win. Gally has to be put on the 1st line, drop Davie back to the 3rd, he is doing nothing to help this team. I'm not worried about the 3rd or 4th lines, they are doing what they are suppose to do....it's the top two I'm worried about.

I have to say, the Patches hooking was really the only penalty that I think was not deserved. Parenteau cross checks a guy in the face, Tinordi interferes with Stajan, Emelin trips a guy, Eller went to the head, Galch head the stick, Gilbert, Emelin, Subban all penalties.
We are playing UNDISCIPLINED. Keys to are win: Carey Price Why we should have lost: UNDISCIPLINED, Desharnais, Bourque, Eller were horrendous last night. When DD isn't playing this line is not gonna score. Also is Patches injured? Where is the shot?
Bourque should not be in the lineup. Time to cut our losses. I believe Eller would be better suited playing with Plekanec and Sekac. Give Galchenyuk Parenteau and Bournival.
Don't blame the refs on this one. Habs won, 2pts. The players need to work on discipline.

First time the Habs have won when I've been in the building in 12 and a half years!!! My 8 year old was thrilled "Best game I've ever been to, Daddy!!"
DISCIPLINE! Wow, some dumb penalties. Subban's was the first. Eller's and Parenteau's were awful as well. We need to use our heads. Markov looked bad, Pacioretty couldn't handle the puck worth beans. Galchenyuk and Gallagher looked like the best Habs that weren't named Price.

Stajan was skating into Tinordi, reaching to poke the puck around him along the boards. Tinordi just stood there and braced himself.
Incidental contact. Stajan hit a tree.
Kypreos is completely wrong.
Meanwhile, two Flames JUMP Tinordi...no calls for roughing….nothing.

I tried watching it online but I just couldn't get into it and ended up with a nice surprise when I woke up this morning ... lots of talk about the refs ... lots of talk about the amount of passengers on the Good Bus Habs ... would dressing Sakec and Bournival be that much of change going into Vancouver ... after having only 19 shots on goal, it might be a good idea to change it up a bit ... the Canucks are a different animal than the Flames and I can see our luck running out against them ... Cheers.

The effort was bad across the board, much worse than against Edmonton where they actually played pretty well.
But who does Therrien single out again....why Lars Eller of course. Despite taking over the Tomas Plekanec role on the team and doing a fairly decent job with a stiff like Rene Bourque on his wing, Eller seems like he's back where he was last year. In MT's doghouse and preferred whipping boy.
I get that his line needs to produce, which it did last night on the only goal, but in a game where we took 7 penalties and lots of guys didn't show up, why is it that Eller takes the hit?

Bad penalty near the end of the second period (roughing)…..as if he was the only one taking bad penalties. Not saying it's right…but that's what MT used as his basis. Perhaps he didn't see Eller battling in front and screening Hiller on Gilbert's goal.
