Good article indeed. Talks about the Kostitsyn pick and how it was between he and Getzlaf/Carter. They felt Kostitsyn had the most talent and he was hurt by the 2005 rule changes as he never developed his foot speed to adapt. If only.
Mentions at the end his ultimate goal is to be an NHL GM. Feels he's done a lot from the bottom up. I can see him being a good GM. Just want him to keep leading our scouting for years to come.

I don't think I would want to admit I chose Kostitsysn over Getzlaf. Be hard to admit that..lol. I think part of learning in life is facing your mistakes. If you understand what you did wrong to make mistake, you are less likely to repeat it. |

Picking Fischer due to the team's need and thinking that Giroux (whom he really liked) would fall to the second was a bit of a epic miss too.
The draft is like that. 17/18 year olds don't always project out and develop as planned (or hoped).
I do like his overall record though.

Hard to imagine how good this team would be now with McDonagh and Giroux. We were this close to both. Galchenyuk,Giroux,Plekanec down the middle. McDONAGH/Subban/Markov in front of Price. |
